Pastel Courses and tuition

I have several different ways in which you can develop your drawing and pastel skills. Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, most of the ‘in person’ courses are temporarily on hold, HOWEVER I am excited to say that I am now offering tuition and demos via zoom.

New zoom drawing classes and one-to-one tuition
I will be starting weekly drawing classes in the next week or two. Please email me if you are interested, as there is a lot of interest in this, and there will be limited places. We will be working in charcoal to start with, and then going on to other media, such as pen and ink, and Conte crayon.
The aim of these classes is to get you practising your drawing skills, rather than producing ‘masterpieces’. It will be a mixture of observation drawing from still life, to subjects such as changing light, figures, landscape features, perspective, etc.
I will be announcing the dates, details and prices by next week.

I am also offering one-to-one tuition on zoom, where you can send me images of your artwork by email, and then we can discuss them on zoom, with demonstrations from me to explain what you can do to improve. I have an overhead camera, so it is very easy to show and explain at the same time. Please email or call me if you are interested in this.
One-to-one tuition £30 per hour

1.The New Pastel School Courses
On these courses, I share my skills with pastel artist Nel Whatmore, between us we have over 50 years of pastel experience, and we approach the medium in different ways.
These courses offer a great opportunity to spend several days in lovely locations, immersing yourself in pastel work, in Devon and Yorkshire.

2.Studio Courses with Rebecca
These are one day courses at my studio in Devon with small numbers of students, focussing on specific subject matter. Days are grouped together to give people who travel a long way the chance to stay in local B & Bs.

3. Talks, demonstrations and workshops, now also available on zoom
I am always happy to tailor a demonstration, talk or workshop to the interests of a group, and have a variety of different subject matter that I can demonstrate.

4. Online Tuition and Videos
As it is impossible at the moment to attend ‘in person’ courses, online courses have become a wonderful resource. I have video courses available to buy and download here. I have made these with Art, an online art school.

5. The Watermill, Italy 2020
I will be teaching for a week in Italy June 26th to July 3rd 2021 at the Watermill in Tuscany. I have planned a ‘Pastels and Mixed Media’ course, so that we can use a combination of soft pastels, pen, Conte and pastel pencils to capture the landscape and architecture of this beautiful place.
There are only 2 places still available on this course now.
