Rebecca’s animal art, of dogs and cats, captures the personality and emotion of her subjects. Pastels are the perfect medium to convey the feel of an animal’s coat, the look in their eyes, and a feeling of movement and energy. Her aim is to breathe life into her subjects.
Rebecca has a natural empathy with animals, and loves to spend time getting to know them, to understand their behaviour, energy and body language.
The paintings and drawings are carefully produced using Unison pastels, charcoal and Conte crayons, on pastel papers or pastel primers painted onto board. All work is protected when sold to prevent smudging, usually framed behind glass. Rebecca uses professional quality pastels which do not fade over time.
