Join us for a live zoom pastel workshop, to capture the power of the incoming tide against a rocky coastline. Full of tips and techniques for mark-making, painting movement of the sea, foam and spray. Working on different colour surfaces. How ‘less is more’ when drawing wet and dry rocks. Using a limited palette of warm and cool colours, and tonal contrasts.

There will be a recording available the day after the session if you register for the event.

You will receive a detailed list of materials, photographs for reference, and a drawing to help you if you need it.

We will use soft pastels. You do not need to have the exact colours that Rebecca will use. We will work on a grey or a neutral blue mid-tone pastel paper or surface for the main piece, and some practise paper for a tonal and colour sketch.

How the session works
I will be demonstrating in my studio, and my ever-patient husband André will be hosting the zoom session. You can ask questions during the demonstration, using the ‘chat’, and I can answer questions at the end, face to face.

A recording of the session will be available after the workshop if you have registered for the event.

When you register for the workshop, you will receive 2 emails;
The first will be a confirmation email.
The second email will arrive a few minutes later. This will contain the links that you need for the zoom and also to access the PDF containing all the information you need, including reference photos and a materials list.
