Zoom pastel workshop: ‘Into the Light’
October 7 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Join us for a live pastel workshop, to capture the light falling on a river as it flows through trees and rocks.
With tips for using lines of flow and perspective to create a sense of space, and to draw your viewer in to a scene. This demo will also include tips on how to draw and paint twisting trees, mossy rocks and flowing water.
There will be a recording available the day after the session if you register for the event.
You will receive a detailed list of materials, photographs for reference, and a drawing to help you if you need it.
We will use soft pastels You do not need to have the exact colours that Rebecca will use, but a range of earthy browns and greens will be useful, as well as some bright blues for the reflected light on the water. We will work on a grey mid-tone pastel paper or surface for the main piece, and a piece of practise paper for a tonal and composition sketch.
This is a workshop for all levels.
How the session works
I will be demonstrating in my studio, and my ever-patient husband André will be hosting the zoom session. You can ask questions during the demonstration, using the ‘chat’, and I can answer questions at the end, face to face.
A recording of the session will be available after the workshop if you have registered for the event.
When you register for the workshop, your confirmation email will contain 2 links.
One link is to a PDF containing all the information you need, including reference photos and a materials list.
There will also be the zoom link to the class.
