Zoom Pastel Workshop, ‘A Trusted Friend’

Join us for a live pastel workshop, to sketch a dog’s head in pastels. We will be using charcoal, soft pastels, Conte Sketching Crayons (if you have them) and pastel pencils, to capture the calmness, form and textures of this labrador/retriever cross.
I was very taken by this reference; the mood, personality and the depth in the eyes that comes across made me really want to paint it!
This demo will also include tips on how to understand the structure of the head, and how wonderful pastels are for capturing the softness of the coat.
A huge thank you to Pezibear from Pixabay for the use of the reference image.
There will be a recording available the day after the session if you register for the event.
You will receive a detailed list of materials, photographs for reference, and a drawing to help you if you need it.
We will use soft pastels for this piece. You do not need to have the exact colours that Rebecca will use. We will work on a warm mid-tone pastel paper or surface for the main piece and some mid-tone practice paper for a tonal sketch.
How the session works
I will be demonstrating in my studio, and my ever-patient husband André will be hosting the zoom session. You can ask questions during the demonstration, using the ‘chat’, and I can answer questions at the end, face to face.
A recording of the session will be available after the workshop if you have registered for the event.
When you register for the workshop, you will receive 2 emails;
The first will be a confirmation email.
The second email will arrive a few minutes later. This will contain the links that you need for the zoom and also to access the PDF containing all the information you need, including reference photos and a materials list.
**PLEASE LOOK IN YOUR SPAM FOLDER if you do NOT receive your 2 EMAILS very soon after booking.
If you do NOT RECEIVE them, PLEASE GET IN TOUCH!**
Please read ALL of the information.
I look forward to seeing you on Monday 2nd February!
